I gave myself permission to be sparkly and it felt wonderful. I gave my body plenty of rest last night. I woke up this morning and read the news, went to class, felt productive. I contacted those I love, just to remind them that I love them, and remembering their love helped me to get through the day. I ate healthy meals that were yummy and walked up the hill, instead of taking the bus. I made a conscious attempt to be generous and patient with my friends and with myself. I engaged with a hard text and wrote about it diligently, and I am proud of both what I produced and how efficiently I produced it. I made a careful effort to avoid complaining, and remembered to say little prayers of contrition and gratitude. I refused stress, and instead reminded myself to be confident in my abilities to manage my time and in my intellect.

And you know what? I’m going to do the same tomorrow.

And maybe, instead of just reading this and thinking that I am obsessed with myself, you should sit down and write your own, and you tell me if you don’t fall asleep smiling.
